Health
The Sphynx is healthy and genetically sound. There are no known
specific health or genetic problems that follow this breed. The Sphynx has a
normal lifespan. There are reports of Sphynx living 15 years and
longer. All
of our cats and kittens are guaranteed healthy upon arrival to their new
homes. See our contract

Vaccinations
It is always important to make sure that your cat receives regular
Vet care. Yearly vaccinations are a must! At Barecats we vaccinate our cats
and kittens against Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus, Panleukopenia, and
Chlamydia Psittaci. Due to the controversy of the FIP, FIV, FeLV vaccines,
we do not vaccinate against the diseases. Although, we guarantee our cats to
be free of these diseases.
Temperature Requirements
The sphynx cannot tolerate temperatures that are too cold. The
"ideal" temperature for these cats is 70 degrees or above. During winter
months I usually provide a heated bed. In the summer, I leave a blanket
laying on the couch or chair, so they can snuggle up in it if they want too.
Some Sphynx even enjoy wearing a sweater.
